OP was bought in September 2023 and is out of stock. That doesn’t count as a 6-month return. If you checked it soon after purchase, it should fall under Amazon’s return period. Just test it again inside the return window and send it back. Don’t bother with an RMA.
Did you try to return or contact Amazon at all? Who the seller is isn't really relevant since the transaction goes through Amazon and no seller wants to get kicked off. I buy from all kind of Amazon sellers and return seems to be all the same. Only exception is for some returns the money comes right after dropping off at UPS, and for few it takes them to first receive the goods before issuing the refund.
I advised against using an RMA. It’s just a way to authorize returning a product, regardless of the channel—manufacturer, distributor, or another party. An RMA stands for its own thing. My reply was straightforward: "Except with the seller, in this case," which is perfectly accurate. The process doesn’t depend on whether it goes through Amazon; the actual seller is still affected by the return. I’ve experienced returns with Amazon recently. In one instance, I didn’t even get the item. I asked for a return and received an instant refund without needing to send anything back—just an empty package.
The warranty process was handled through the manufacturer directly. Typically this needs approval before returning items. Perhaps a more suitable term would have been used. Amazon offers a straightforward return without needing prior authorization. That seems to be the recommended approach—it’s just selecting the return label.
