I've spent a lot of time playing console games for years, but over the past five years I've grown more attached to PC gaming. There are clear benefits to playing on a PC—like a stronger system, the ability to adjust settings, and the fact that games are now often available for affordable prices thanks to digital downloads. Even though I enjoy the extra quality of using my own computer, I still find RPGs more comfortable when played with a controller. I was interested in learning what others thought about this difference in control methods.
It varies by game; controllers feel smoother in racing but FPS mice are more comfortable during long sessions.
Keyboard for all other games except racing titles, GTA, and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Next, I rely on the reliable Logitech Dual Action controller.
I've spent a lot of time playing on consoles, but with controllers, it's hard to match the precision you get with a mouse.
We definitely discussed that topic last time, though it mostly involved using a mouse and keyboard for better precision and control. The main exceptions were racing and fighting games.
Sometimes I miss the physical analog stick. It lets you control at any speed you like—not just walking or running. For me, it’s not just about racing games. I can’t imagine playing SpeedRunners with a keyboard (it’s more of a platformer).
