Without a fixed phone line and no chance to install it, you'll need to purchase a portable Wi-Fi router that requires a mobile data SIM card.

I checked Google Maps and found Statesville, NC is roughly 40 miles from Charlotte, similar distances to Winston-Salem/Greensboro, and near the crossroads of two interstates. My takeaway is that the person seems trying to mislead us; he could easily connect to Wi-Fi with a router and likely has 4G coverage in the area.

Order a WiFi router yourself. If AT&T doesn’t have one, purchase it from Amazon and connect it to the AT&T modem.
