I didn't have to spend any, but what's typical cost for an operating system? Did people pay before the widespread use of Windows 10?

I paid £39.99 for Windows 7 64-bit Pro around four years ago and later got Windows 8.1 64-bit Pro for around £89.99 after installing it on my SSD. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 just a week ago!

I bought the W7 Home Premium for $100, received a key for W7 Ultimate from someone online, and upgraded to W10 for free. However, I installed Ultimate on my laptop, which ended up costing me $200.

Go Linux is a great choice—it's free and simple to use! That sounded a bit rehearsed, though. TekSyndicate: Linux is awesome; the NSA and Google can’t spy on me, and now Linus can avoid those rootkits to mine my electricity instead of playing Skyrim at 1440p. Wow, I need some friends. I’m going to watch rugby now. Don’t judge my odd thoughts!
