I am reviewing the motherboard details and specifications carefully. The system appears to be running on openSuse Tumbleweed 20251127 with OS version 06.17.9-1, using GNU Grub v2.12. I am still uncertain about certain points marked with a question mark. My experience during startup shows no POST; the PC boots into the operating system but does not enter BIOS. On startup, a beep occurs, but there is no POST screen and the display prompts to press DEL or F2 for BIOS access. Pressing either key causes the screen to go black and prevents OS entry. Restarting without entering BIOS leads to normal operation in the OS.
I have tried several actions:
1. Cleared CMOS following instructions from the Asus website. After clearing, I received an American Megatrends interface asking to press F1 for BIOS repair. Pressing F1 results in a black screen with no response.
2. Repeated CMOS clearing process. The same issue persists—screen remains black and no action occurs.
3. Connected a BIOS USB drive and attempted to start the PC. The display transitions to a DEL or F2 menu, which also goes black without any progress.
4. Used the ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility per the motherboard manual. The screen stays black during startup even after inserting the updated BIOS USB.
5. Considered alternative keyboards, suspecting the F keys might not be recognized. I tested four different wired and USB/PS2 keyboards without success.

Try this approach. Position your hand on the keyboard and press several keys simultaneously. Maintain your grip while turning it on. Stay still. The goal is to induce a keyboard malfunction that unlocks the BIOS.
Thank you COLGeek. I apologize for posting twice. The first message was about using Windows 10, where I accessed BIOS via Windows Recovery. I installed openSuse Tumbleweed expecting the issue to be resolved. However, when trying to update the BIOS, I still couldn't reach it. This led to my second post.
I'm currently using a PS/2 keyboard and have tried your advice. What happened was that I simply entered the 'openSuse' splash screen and skipped the usual 'DEL' or 'F2' steps to enter BIOS altogether.
Have you ever adjusted the BIOS manually to check for access?
Here’s how you can do it:
1. Disconnect all power cords (power cable, video cable, speakers, etc.).
2. Remove the motherboard battery.
3. Press the power button to remove any remaining power in the system.
4. Hold for a minute (optional but safe).
5. Reattach the battery and reconnect the disconnected parts.
6. Turn on the system; it should start with default settings now.
Another way to get into BIOS, albeit more work, is:
* remove/disconnect OS drive.
Without OS drive where PC can't boot to OS, PC will boot into BIOS after the POST.
This i've personally validated with my Z97, Z170 and X870E chipset MoBos. I see no reason why the same wouldn't work on your H370 and Z390 chipset MoBos.
