I begin by noting the setup: Windows 10 on my school and personal laptop, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on my desktop, and TrueNAS CORE on my NAS.

You're using a Windows 10 work laptop, a desktop with Windows 11, and running Ubuntu inside WSL2 on your work laptop.

WSL is something I've never encountered before. It looks intriguing.

I chose to try Windows 11 on my Samsung Galaxy Book Pro. It’s functioning fine, but it seems like a rebranded version of Windows 10. Maybe it should have been named something else, like Windows 10.1. It works, but I wish there were more genuine alternatives for Microsoft.

The main rival they face right now is their own Windows 10 version.
