Consider an ax200 chipset with external antennas; lower-cost options are also suitable.
The TP-Link Archer line is often suggested, but I haven't tried it myself. If you're in the UK, using Wi-Fi for streaming and gaming together isn't ideal due to limited bandwidth and high latency. What router model are you using and what internet plan do you have?
WiFi and gaming/streaming aren't compatible unless you're dealing with problems like loose connections. You also didn't share details about your router, distance, interference levels, or network congestion.
My TP Archer is performing excellently. The Gigabyte Gamer 5 also has strong Wi-Fi. You can usually improve performance with external antennas.
You might be able to stream if you get steady 20 Mbps, but it won’t be ideal. If I were in your shoes, I’d run an Ethernet cable. But if that’s not possible, the router suggested by @Electronics Wizardy seems reasonable. Also, if you’re still using your ISP’s router, think about upgrading—though it might be harder with Virgin since they use coax CATV while others use ADSL. You could always switch to a router and set it to WAP-only mode.
I’d consider an option similar to the one suggested by Electronics Wizardry. Apologies if I didn’t provide more assistance!
