I received a 5600X right out of the box to swap in for my i5 3570K. It’s been working fine until now, except for a memory controller issue that kept causing startup failures with the DRAM motherboard light for several months before it finally stopped working altogether. I wasn’t sure what was causing it until I swapped out the RAM, filed an RMA for the motherboard, and only then did AMD accept my CPU return. It’s definitely the early adopter price of dealing with headaches and extra costs. This seems to be my last chance to get a CPU or GPU at launch unless we hit another major supply chain problem.
I'm running an older Intel 486DX4 and an AMD APU E300 as a daily machine, but I also have other CPUs in my system—Intel 5800X3D, Core i7s, a new Gen 5 Celeron, and Pentium 4s. While fast processors aren't really my thing, I prefer the slower side of things; slower CPUs suit me better.
