I favor AMD systems, so most of my setup uses AMD CPUs. I've tried: My first PC: Athlon K8 (1997). It was a family machine. My second laptop: Turion 64 x2 (2010). Compaq CQ40 isn't very dependable, but it still works and is affordable at the time. It replaced my first laptop and was reasonably cheap. My third laptop: A10 5750m (2013). It was an MSI GX70 3BE, my initial gaming machine. It replaced the broken Compaq CQ40. One of my lasting laptops. My current deactivated unit: Ryzen 5 3600 (2018). I assembled this PC because my old gaming laptop couldn't keep up. My present laptop: Ryzen 7 4700U (2019). It's a Lenovo Yoga 6 13ARE05. I use it while traveling or outdoors. This also supersedes my Surface Pro 4. I still use Intel since it's the main player in Malaysia. My second PC: Pentium 4 desktop (2001). My dad wanted a PC, so he bought one and made this the new family machine while he kept the old one for himself. My very first laptop: Pentium M (2007). It was a Dell Inspiron 6000, my dad bought it when I was in school. My first tablet: 4th gen Core i5 U laptop (2016). It was the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. I purchased it at a sale. I'm not using it anymore because the RAM is only 4GB and the battery life is poor.

You're considering upgrading your gaming rig with newer Ryzen processors. Your current i9 10850K is solid, and you're thinking about moving to the Ryzen 7800X3D, 7950X, or even the 14th gen i9 when they release. Your friend's PC has a 3800X and might upgrade to a 5800X3D later if she stays on the AM4 socket.

My device is an i-12400 with a solid CPU, but I really think upgrading to a better GPU would help.

12100 paired with a 4090… feel free to share your thoughts! Just remember, I’m not sure about your monitor or the games you enjoy.

I started with a Pentium, had a Palmtop from Dell, moved to a Core 2 Duo, then upgraded to an Intel Core i5-3570. Now I’m using a Ryzen 5 2400G every day. This journey took place over the late 2010s and early 2020s.

I recently switched from my dual Xeon Platinum 8268 to a Xeon W-3375, and I’ve already built a single Xeon Platinum 8468 workstation that will take its place. Xeons suit me well.
