I considered trying GTA Online once more...
I set up my pdw first, then switched to unarmed mode. When I opened the weapon wheel, I only had my fists. After about five minutes, all weapons appeared, my money was drained, and soon I received 1 million. It would have been easier if I just pressed F10 and captured it in Shadowplay.
This part of the transaction is quite annoying and upsetting. I wouldn't risk losing my well-earned 240 million GTA dollars.
If you take some hackers' funds, R* will eliminate them. If you spend money while holding their funds, it won't affect them.
They don't seem to delete it, so you should be okay using it. From Rockstar's perspective: We've received reports of cheaters giving away significant GTA$ to others, exceeding normal limits, or trying to disrupt the game's economy. We've already released patches to stop this, and we're planning more updates with stronger anti-cheat measures. Those who intentionally cheated will be isolated from the rest of the player base. If you received an unusually large amount without consent, you shouldn't worry about account penalties. But keep in mind, we'll automatically adjust balances across the community to remove such currency.
It's been happening multiple times to me across different situations. It's really annoying investing time in a game only to face problems after leveling up past 7. I was leading a long race but got attacked repeatedly. I don't think a new install is required. You can also save the game files and reinstall without downloading the whole thing if you prefer.
