MBR must be converted into GPT format. UEFI doesn’t accept MBR, especially if attempting a Windows 10 installation. If he’s trying to boot Windows 11, GPT is the correct method. Since Secure Boot requires Legacy mode, disabling UEFI and using the MBR disk should allow booting. Make sure all details are provided for accurate guidance.

Sure. It's accurate. You can get 10 UEFIs on the MBR. Just avoid using Win11.

It doesn’t appear to be a GPT problem. Windows 7 can work with UEFI and GPT as well.

Because the boot manager was old, I think it's more about MBR. It's mostly trial and error—starting with UEFI if needed. If it doesn't boot at all, try CSMOS. One of them should work if it previously ran smoothly.
