I changed my BIOS settings and it won't start from the correct drive anymore.
In short, I had to change my BIOS settings, which reset my boot drive. Now I can't pick the right drive and must use the boot override each time. My selected drives show Windows Boot Manager and two SATA drives that don’t boot Windows. How can I ensure the correct drive is chosen without going into BIOS every time? Also, why are my storage labels set to 1, 5, and 6 when I only have three devices, and I want to select the correct one?
They mark them as 1, 5, and 6 since those are the port connections. The second image appears to indicate selection options there—does it retain that memory?
It fails to start when I choose it in an unusual way. The dropdown lists "windows boot manager" there but not in the override area. Edited March 24, 2023 by JoyceManor
Remove the windows boot manager, specifically SATA6G_5: WDC WD10EZEX-00BN5A0, which is the mouse cursor position shown in the first image.
The correct choice is the Legacy BIOS boot option. For the UEFI setting, select the option you highlighted in the image.
