How to use a .bin file to flash BIOS?
How to use a .bin file to flash BIOS?
There might be a Windows tool to change the BIOS, but otherwise you are supposed to start up on DOS and run the program yourself manually. If there isn't one built in, maybe you could use a general BIOS flasher instead. In any case, I don't recommend doing anything because you could easily break your computer (stop it from starting) forever.

If no flashing software is available on the site, you could try using a general bios flasher instead. I don't think that's safe though because messing with your laptop like that can easily ruin it and stop it from starting up again.
Thanks to all your replies! I am wondering if anyone knows how to get a real BIOS file for this laptop, the CQ62-a10SA. The one I have now is F.26. HP does not give drivers or bios for laptops older than 10 years (I know about the drivers but they should at least provide the actual bios files).
Besides having a .BIN file, do you also have the release notes for this version? Basically, what are you going to get if you try upgrading your BIOS? Just go into BIOS and check who made it (like American Megatrends or AMI), then search for a flasher tool from that vendor.
