How to resolve a case short on a motherboard
On the right side beneath the board, you can observe two screws attached to the box. I’m concerned they might not need more screws in. I’m worried they’re longer than the standoffs themselves.
Edit: Sorry if this bothers you; I just want to cover my bases before reinstalling. I really don’t like plugging in the 24 pin, lol.
It's difficult to tell them apart in the photo. Are these screws similar to the ones shown at http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/ar...ck-cpu.jpg?
Everything appeared fine until reaching the Molex for the two fans. Each time I connected something, it would boot up. When I plugged in the fans, the computer wouldn't start. The two 3P connectors for the fans fit into a 4P connector. I checked the 4P connector with a wire inspector and it seems to work. Trying to connect just one fan into the 4P didn't work either. Should I be doing something wrong? Are both fans dead? It doesn't seem likely, does it?
It might be related to a controller problem. You may try a fan controller instead:
