Do you mean clearing the system because it deletes all programs but keeps files in folders like documents, videos, downloads, music, and other user folders? Unless you’re sure the key logger isn’t in those folders, you’ll need to reformat the hard drive and start fresh. Do you know your Windows product key?
When I needed to restart my laptop, it worked perfectly for the upgrade. Just get the Windows 10 ISO or install the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.
I'm pointing out that saving to a D or E drive is more challenging without a dedicated internal storage unit. It's true I have a 1tb and 500gb HDD, but it doesn't appear to be the scenario for others.
I don’t possess the 120GB boot disc anymore; I haven’t taken it out from my installation media. But I do have a 200GB external drive, which should be sufficient. I’m currently setting up Windows 10 on that one.
