Sure, can I put in a 2.5 Gbps switch? They say this thing is a hub... and yes, virgin media does work like a hub. If it isn't called a hub, why call it that? It just makes people confused. So what actually means "hub"?

First, what plan do you choose for your ISP? Is it fast enough for 2.5g or just 1gbit? Probably you don't need more speed than 1gbit for games, websites, or Netflix. Only downloads get faster with that extra speed. If you have a 2.5g connection, it won't make gaming better, but it will save time when downloading from places like Steam.

How many hours do you spend downloading each day? Does saving five minutes per month justify the effort to upgrade your internet faster than 1gbit? Many sites like Steam don't download at top speed; they might only use half of that rate due to server load or their own limits. But if you really want this, you just need a 2.5g router switch and remove your current Apple router since it only has gigabit ports.
