I've got Forge set up and everything works fine. I'm using OptiFine for anti-aliasing. Whenever I put the OptiFine executable into the mods folder, close it, open Minecraft, click play, and the launcher says it's launching but Minecraft doesn't start properly. After removing it, it loads again. I really want to stick with Forge so I can use OptiFine and shaders for Enderman?

Is the mod utilizing the correct Forge release? Have you chosen the appropriate version in the launcher's settings?

I don’t understand, I only use mods when they’re prebuilt. I’m not familiar with mixing them myself. Sorry about that.

Add OptiFinE to the forge jar in the versions/forge folder by opening optifine.jar with a tool like WinRAR and transferring its contents into the forge archive. This should resolve the issue, though it might not if not done correctly—then reinstall Forge would be necessary.

Which OptiFine release are you using? The latest ones don’t need it, just a standard installation.

Click the jar labeled for the mod—it's a .exe file.

It indicates version 1.8.1 isn't available, likely because your profile lists a different version.

Choose version 1.8.1, confirm with OK, and then start playback to create the files for that release. Next, return to the mod section.

You don’t need to create a new version; just add OptiFine to Forge, then you can insert shaders afterward.
