I’d suggest leaving the front glass panel off unless you really want that look. From what I’ve seen, those panels tend to block fans even with a small gap, and swapping in a stronger CPU will only make things hotter inside your case. Not every case or fan works the same—construction problems can pop up. Check that all your fans are set to push air outward; otherwise you might get negative pressure and heat buildup. This isn’t just about dust—it could affect performance if the GPU is too hot. If you try to remove the side panel and notice cooler GPU temps, it’s probably a case ventilation issue rather than a fan problem.
I believe the airflow remains acceptable since there are no panels on it, keeping the temperature consistent.
It seems the issue might not be with the card itself. If you suspect it is, checking it directly would clarify. Generally, many games handle this by maintaining similar load levels, which can lead to better frame rates and temperatures. Some titles restrict load during menus, so they don’t show this effect. Most GPUs have default settings that aren’t ideal—often needing adjustments like thermal paste. It’s possible a new card won’t fix it, but testing could help. I’ve seen instances where it didn’t matter, though sometimes it does. This model is from NZXT and was built for strong airflow management.
One solution might be to use Nvidia's Control Panel to artificially cap game or menu frame rates to match your monitor's refresh rate. This is especially helpful when a game doesn't let you set a specific FPS target and simply lets the GPU run at full speed, as seen in New World or the 3090 Killer. While this isn't ideal, it could work if it meets your needs without noticeable lag. You might miss some reaction time, but unless you're a competitive gamer, most people probably won't notice the difference between locked and unlocked settings. This approach essentially limits performance below what feels reasonable in-game—like running at 30 frames instead of 144.
I know it been some time but now i changed my thermal paste and pads and here are my results. So temp got worse now it goes to 83°C but i have higher performance i got 2-3k points more on furmark and GPU is more stable. The problem was that previous owner of gpu changed thermal pads for some shit 0.1mm thermal pads that were stacked on each other and didn't even touch chips.
