High power requirements for this processor model
Hey everyone, I’m planning to upgrade my I5 4690k to a Ryzen 5 5600x. This means updating the motherboard and RAM too, but I’m aware of what’s required. The main challenge is finding a motherboard with an 8-pin power connector for the CPU, as most only have 4 pins. I’m budgeting around £50 and need to make sure the 8-pin setup works without issues. The SATA slots are a concern too—my current rig has a 1080 and needs four free ones for my two 2.5TB drives. Should I look into other options, stretch the budget, or stick with 4 pins and accept any performance trade-offs?
It’s perfectly acceptable using the 4-pin connector for the CPU with a 5600X. Also, check out the 5600 non-X model—it offers similar performance while being around 25% cheaper.

I was checking the Asus Prime A520M-K, because it’s easy to connect my parts and it should work fine. I didn’t care about RGB details since I already have a sealed case. However, after reading it, some users mention needing a flash because the box doesn’t support 5000-series CPUs, which might make it more costly. I also need a micro ATX build.
The price for the a520m-k is £60, but I'm not sure if that's a solid offer if the b550 boards are around £20 higher.
