This game forces auto-saves and doesn’t let you save in a way you can reload later. I had a Uchigatana+10 that dealt huge damage after boosting dexterity, but I found a blacksmith in Anor Londo offering to upgrade it for a Titanite chunk. Only when I upgraded did it drop to a Lightning Uchigatana that does less than half the damage I was using before. Total frustration now—I need the other Uchigatana since my current build is tailored for it (especially high dexterity). Hate this game even more. If I had to rate it, I’d give it 9.5/10 after fixing it with dsfix at 60 fps, but honestly, I’m not enjoying it anymore.

It's time to release 50,000 people to acquire the Uchigatana and the necessary pieces to reach +10.

You understand the feeling when you try to help but end up causing more harm. That's the "Dark Souls Effect."

The autosave really throws you for a loop when you mess up. Initially I felt like I was trapped in Anor Londo, needing to complete the level using that POS lightning uchigatana, though at least there was a shortcut right after the blacksmith.

You understand it can be lowered, correct? Just reach out to the blacksmith once more. I don’t recall the exact choice, but you can earn another +10 uchi. I did lower the lightning spear from Sen’s Fortress to get the Moonlight Butterfly Spear—probably not the right name, but it worked.

Do you have the perfect amount of pancakes ready before you start playing?

I reviewed it for you. Return to the blacksmith, choose "modify equipment," and the downgrade option on the far right will bring your gear back up to level 10 uchi. The only parts you can’t adjust in the first game are your character name and stats; most other details have alternatives. Let me know if this clears things up.

I believe the feature to revert to your +10 weapon won’t appear. The Lightning Uchigatana requires the Uchigatana+5, so you’ll need to obtain that first.

Add ten uchi specifically for the lightning infusion, with a higher value than the usual five. You’ll receive that amount back later. For your dex build, you can boost your uchi into a Chaos Blade—among the top dex weapons available—and also a katana. This choice appears right beside the lightning infusion option. When you select "modify equipment," the first pick is lightning infusion, followed by demon infusion (linked to the Chaos Blade), and then the last one is for downgrading weapons.

Damn Ornstein and Smough presents a challenging encounter. I finally defeated them without needing to call upon others, though having tackled Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls up to Anor Londo makes it the second most demanding boss I've encountered. It's still not as tough as Orphan of Kos in the Bloodborne expansion, but definitely harder than Ludwig from that same expansion—except for the two gargoyles on the bridge during the prison level.
