It’s got a solid 3.8GB of RAM, but the 1TB HDD is a constraint. No drivers for newer programs, limited software updates, and missing API support. Basically, it’s outdated in terms of modern features.

Checking out a Chrome book would be great. I wouldn't want to run XP in 2017.

The South Korean government is considering moving away from ActiveX because of its numerous issues. It's interesting that this hasn't been implemented yet. Are you really relying on the government's advice? About ten years ago, media reports mentioned the intention to encourage Linux in schools over Windows Vista and 7, but it seems those plans didn't come to fruition.

He mainly relies on the computer for handling files. Updates, fresh drivers, and similar things aren’t necessary for him. He seems okay with the current operating system and its updates.
