Also, after roughly six straight matches of WA, the rebels just won us!

I enjoy the progress so far, the game runs much smoother than expected. With my current setup, I'm experiencing microstutter at 1440p, though I maintain around 120 FPS. It might be related to VRAM limitations. Do others with a 970 model under similar settings face the same problem?

Played it for nearly two hours, reached rank 4 and it was entertaining for a while. As I mentioned before, I’d love to see more players, around 32 versus 32. I also find the card system confusing. I understand it, but it feels odd. Why can’t I place grenades (yes, they’re a card) on my MB3? Or did I miss something about that option?

Secure the card to your MB3; initially, I considered a throw grenade option.

At first glance, the game feels more about the engine than actual combat. The visuals are solid, but they don’t matter right now. The maps seem one-sided, with the rebel turrets being poor choices and the spawn spots not ideal. It reminds me of playing metro in Battlefield 3—similar issues. The drop pod layout is decent, but if you’re facing jetpack-equipped enemies, you’ll be in trouble. Those pods are pretty strong. Spawn locations are odd too; dying to reach one means you might miss your chance. Both maps need a balance fix. The gunplay is fine, but more firepower would help. Vehicles as power-ups are strange—hard to say for sure. I don’t recall that being a feature in Battlefield 2 either. Still, I’m okay with upgrading gear if it helps, though rank restrictions are annoying. Right now, I’m leaning toward getting bored quickly. Titanfall had more depth, and I didn’t enjoy it much. Just because it’s Star Wars doesn’t guarantee I’ll stay engaged. I still feel disappointed about the lack of space combat. Battlefield 2’s games weren’t great either, but dice didn’t ruin it. I’m planning to play more to form my opinion, but for now it’s a toss-up—50/50.

It's still in beta testing. I tried Vader but got hit by five enemies before I could see his abilities. It was really bad. Flying feels a bit exciting now, though—it's something I'm getting used to. You definitely need to have a certain level of skill to get the right equipment.

According to Origin I have played 2 hours so far. Most of it is pretty fun, but some of the other things need some fixing... Gunplay; Since it's blasters mostly being used they definitely made them feel different and shoot different than regular guns do. There's pretty noticeable travel time for your shots so you have lead quite a bit at medium to long range. I really like the active cooldown feature since it gives a vibe of Gears of War to me. Flying; I really, really hate flying. The aim focusing system needs reworked since it's only useful for straight firing and not leading shots. Also turning needs to be reworked, feels like my sensitivity goes from 100 on the ground to 5 in the air. Unless there's something I'm missing when it comes to controls for flying then I'm staying away from this as it is awful. You can do a lot of damage when you can land shots on the walkers and ground units/turrets. Also I noticed that Rebel flying feels a lot slower turning wise than Imperial. I don't know what's up with this but they need to look into it. Turrets; All turrets turning feel like crap. Almost as if mouse acceleration is turned on half way, but then you throw some butter in there to make it slippery too. It's weird and I'm staying away from turrets until they sort it out. But what's really weird is that I picked up a turret powerup and used it and it felt completely fine, turning and aiming were precise and I enjoyed it, but standard in-game turrets, both mounted and base turrets, have crap controls. Jedi/Sith fighting; I was able to play as both Vader and Luke, they have different abilities and can do tons of damage, but if you're not careful AT-ST walkers, flying units, and even standard soldier units and take you out pretty quickly. Also don't bother trying to attack the AT-AT walkers, they can just step on you and instantly kill you, learned that the hard way... What was really fun was I was Luke and got into a fight with Vader at the last push with the walkers and we were really just swinging the sabers at each other and using our abilities, even though there wasn't any cool saber fight sequences, it felt great to kill Vader. Ability cards(or whatever they're called); It was interesting using different cards to see what situations they were good in, but I opted mostly for the Grenade/Shield/Jumppack combo when doing standard non-vehicle gameplay and then switching to Rifle/Shield/Jumppack for vehicle gameplay since the rifle can do quite a bit of damage against vehicles and makes good for a medium to long range weapon for soldier units. The shield is just in case something is about to happen and I need immediate cover, good to put over objectives, and the jumppack is fun to use to get to higher vantage points and move around quicker or leave an area fast if you're low on health. What I'd like changed here is just give us 3 ability card slots and don't limit what we can put in them. Right now the middle slot is restricted to only the Personal Shield and the Ion Shot, I'd like to have a setup where I can have Grenade/Rifle/Jumppack or even Rifle/Ion Shot/Personal Shield. I feel like I'm forced to pick either Ion Shot or Personal Shield than choosing to pick either of them. Maybe the full game will have more cards which will make this change redundant, but I like options and my options are a bit restricted right now in the beta. Game modes; Drop Zone is fun, but the jumppack is a must have since the game likes to spawn you very far away from the objective. Maybe rework the spawn system a bit, still fun though. Walker Assault, now this is both fun and very frustrating. If you're playing Rebel and you don't have good pilots then just farm kills as best as you can since you're not going to win. This game mode is very Imperial sided, which is fun for the Imperial side(I got 64 kills just by using AT-ST's for example), but not very fun for the Rebel side. They either need to balance out the Imperial side(no ideas from me) or give the Rebels some extra firepower like rocket launchers. I know there are power ups for rocket launchers, but they seem very scarce at times and are also one use. I think I've only gotten 1 or 2 my whole two hours of playing so far and I only saw 1 or 2 other people using one as well. Maybe if they fix the turrets controls and give them a bit more power to them then they'll be worth using. Also the way Walker Assault's map is laid out is very Imperial sided as well, so I'd give Rebels more cover or something to give them a balanced field of play. Edit: After playing a bit more and seeing different YouTube videos about Rebel tactics on the map I can see how easily Rebels can win now, but out of the 15 or so Walker Assault games I've played on Rebel side we've always lost. You really can't waste things like Orbital Strikes and T-47's, but my complaints about flying still stands, it sucks and needs reworking. Missions; Haven't played Survival yet, but it looks fun. I'm waiting for my friend or cousin to get online to try this out since it sounds like Horde mode which I enjoyed greatly in Gears of War. Overall this is a very fun game and I'm very tempted to buy it day one. I'll have to move some money around and see what happens at release, but it's pretty safe to say that I'll be picking this up for full retail price or waiting for the closest sale to happen to pick it up for $30-$50. I 100% recommend this game. Oh and I've never played a Battlefront game before this, so I'm not sure how veteran Battlefront players feel about this game. Might be a hit or miss for them, not sure.

Everything runs smoothly except for texture quality, mesh quality, and shadow quality which are set to ultra. FXAA is low at 4k resolution. I usually maintain around 60fps now. I saved a screenshot of the ultra preset and my current configuration, but it doesn’t show any noticeable difference—I see about twice the frames per second.

Bad. The pickup system is insane. Jump straight into a Wing... serious? <_< Placement options are absurd. Weapons seem meaningless. The fights lack strategy. Graphics are ridiculous. A SW skin version would improve things. The battlefield feels like a beginner's copy of Battlefield, barely keeping up with the simplest players. Right now it’s just a letdown with no justification to purchase it.
