Here are your Battlefront Beta impressions.
Here are your Battlefront Beta impressions.
I tried the beta for about two hours and ended up with the highest rank possible, which is quite straightforward. It feels somewhat similar to Battlefield Star Wars mainly due to its engine, but the gunplay gives it a Star Wars vibe. The two game modes are interesting during the beta, though I found Walker Assault one-sided since the Imperials have those dominant ATs. I can easily rack up 30-60 kills if I’m on Imperials in Walker Assault. The sniper rifle and jetpack are also enjoyable features. The Drop Zone mode is really fun and avoids the AT battles, focusing instead on infantry-on-infantry combat with a cool map. The main issue so far has been server stability—it took me many tries before finding a playable server. Walker Assault seems to favor the Imperials, which could be a drawback. The gameplay and gunplay are both engaging, though I haven’t tried playing as a Sith or Jedi yet. It doesn’t seem destined to become a long-lasting favorite, but it could offer some entertainment. I won’t purchase it, though—it runs smoothly on my system without any problems.
To date it seems fine, though not particularly outstanding. The main issue is that I don’t really enjoy online play and prefer the single-player experience, which this version falls short of. I’ve tried survival mode a few times, but it’s so simple in normal mode that it becomes monotonous. I’m sure I’ll purchase it eventually, probably after the price drops. I intend to try multiplayer with friends this weekend, hoping it will impress me later. It’s still an open beta.
It seems like you're expressing excitement about your weekend being over!
Played it for roughly an hour and it’s pretty much a Star Wars clone, though the theme is unmistakable. I might actually like it, which is unexpected since I was hoping for something mediocre. It runs smoothly at 2560x1440 with Ultra settings on a 980, so I’m giving it a thumbs up. I plan to share it with friends and enjoy this weekend beta together.
I thought it was fine but unfortunately it's been simplified a lot compared to a traditional battlefield core title that I didn't enjoy much. The movement and flying sections were really basic. The sound effects are nice and the visuals are pretty, but the gameplay felt shallow. The maps are corridor-style and there wasn't much teamwork required. I'll consider playing it later once it gets fixed and is more playable. I'll wait for a price drop before picking it up, since it doesn't seem to match what I expected from a full-priced version. In short, BF Core has the core experience, but the Star Wars theme might keep it going longer.
This game isn't about Star Wars Battlefield, it's more like Star Wars of Duty. Take down the opponent. EDIT - Unless you're with 20 teammates, you won't succeed in Walker Assault as Rebels.
I'm really impressed with this so far—it's the most visually appealing game I've played. It performs smoothly, delivering around 40-70fps. With a single overclocked 290 at 4k and high/ultra settings enabled, plus ambient occlusion and AA turned off, it's highly optimized. The menus are fast and responsive. 10 out of 10!
