If you enjoy FPS, Survival, or RPG titles, I highly recommend checking out "Escape from Tarkov." It's been my favorite game over the past year. I truly love it—especially the weapon physics in a shooting game. If the developers keep following their direction, it could become one of the greatest games ever made. Although it has some issues since it's not fully completed, it remains an awesome experience. Give it a try!
I suggest the Mass Effect series, it isn't flawless, yet I found it engaging as I played the same protagonist through numerous odd cosmic occurrences. The character interactions were particularly impressive.
Biased: Dragon Age, Mass Effect series, Knights of the Old Republic I&II, The Witcher series, Anno series (AD), Total War games (including Medieval2 with mods like Europa Barbarorum2), but I enjoyed Silent Hunter 3 a lot too. Patience is needed.
