The connection works well. I have over 2.5 thousand posts. I don’t want to risk spreading the infection in the forum.

Someone mentioned having something to trade and showed a screenshot. I clicked it, and suddenly the virus downloaded automatically—completely unacceptable!

I just checked malwareBytes and CCleaner. They removed a few more malware files, mainly pop-up programs on the desktop. However, the page still loads when Chrome starts, so I’ll proceed with Hitman and Ardware next.

You've tested all the programs and the site still loads in Internet Explorer. Reinstalling Chrome might help. Your bookmarks should remain unless you manually delete them during the reinstall.

I doubt reinstalling Chrome will help since it's also present in IE. To clarify: when logged into Chrome, all your bookmarks sync with the associated Google account, allowing you to reach them on your phone. You might even be able to export them as a file and import later if you don’t use a Google account. For reference, check your Control panel for any suspicious programs.

If that's the situation, I'll definitely give it another go. It's worth a try, right?

Sure, it's a quick process. (Could also tidy up the registry.)

Sure thing! The fix worked, though Internet Explorer still has some annoying stuff. It’s not a big deal since it’s rarely used. Thanks for your support!
