It was his decision I mentioned, though he claims he doesn't rely on AMD GPUs. He mentions numerous driver issues.

It's probable that Ampere GPUs will come out before RDNA2.

I really wouldn't think about using a locked Intel chip.

The 10400 performs well against a 3600 in numerous matches when using quick RAM. Intel made a mistake by setting it to non-Z boards... @TofuHaroto

It performs better in games when overclocked too. The 3600 remains unlocked as well. Honestly, I wouldn’t suggest it.

It's accurate that the stock cooler won't handle the heat from OC, even though it's a reasonable compromise if you plan to upgrade later. Adding more cost to the AMD build could be worthwhile, especially since 10,400 remains a viable option with boards featuring APE and BFR capabilities. The main drawback is the single-core speed—currently capped at 4.3GHz—and the aggressive turbo settings from APE/BFR will push the base clock up to 2.9GHz, which may cause instability or performance drops during gaming unless you're targeting high-end benchmarks like Cinebench R20.
