Hi, I'm experiencing some strange behavior with my Ryzen 2700X. When running Precision Boost, it automatically switches to manual OC at 3.8GHz or 4GHz depending on the setting. It randomly changes back to manual after a short period, even though it's set to auto. I've reinstalled Windows twice and cleared the BIOS cache, but the issue persists. Could you help me figure out what else I should do?

That's correct...sorry, I meant to suggest a 3600 paired with the B550 if you have funds available. In my opinion, it would be beneficial to trade in the 2700x for a 3600...you won't sacrifice any performance, and the 3600 will operate more efficiently while drawing significantly less power from the motherboard VRM.

It occurred on auto in just one minute, after which the manual changed color and reached 3.8ghz.

Your motherboard isn't designed for overclocking and may struggle with it, especially the 2700x. It's likely the board will throttle the 2700x because of VRM overheating when pushed to higher speeds. For optimal performance, stick to the stock settings and use PBO.

I can't run it at stock because it alters everything constantly. If you check my picture, you'll see it was initially set to stock, then switched to manual, and reached 3.8ghz when auto was enabled.

Did you store a profile in Ryzen Master and select it for Windows loading?

Everything is normal, I reinstalled Windows three days ago to resolve this problem. Did you check the image I saved and see how it appears red in manual mode? I'm considering getting an Asus ROG Strix B450 - F gaming motherboard today—do you think that's a good choice?

Do you think it would be a good idea to switch out the motherboard to Asus rog stric's b450-f gaming looks like decent vrms

I think Ryzen Master is being dropped because the EDC current is exceeding its limits. For a solid board upgrade, check out the reference sheet link below— the B450-F isn’t ideal for overclocking. If you can afford it, the B550 boards generally perform better than the B450 in all aspects. You might find more detailed VRM testing on Hardware Unboxed on YouTube.

Thank you, but I'm unable to use the B550 since I only have a 2700x which isn't compatible with it.
