I have an RX 6800 XT reference card that has been in my possession for roughly two years. The GPU began failing suddenly when idle with the display off. It progressed to crashes during normal use and eventually stopped responding completely. I brought it to a repair shop, which replaced the VBIOS using a programmer and confirmed everything was fine. They mentioned they would flash a different VBIOS if the current one was defective. After using the card for a month, it failed again—no POST, but the VGA LED still lit. I attempted to boot the system with my iGPU while the card was connected, but the PC wouldn’t post. I changed the BIOS settings so the initial output appeared on the iGPU. I’m thinking about flashing the VBIOS myself using CH341A, but I’m unsure if this would be considered a faulty chip or if replacement is necessary.

Check the original, updated, and latest VBIOS versions in GPU-Z.

The issue lies with the GPU, which has been confirmed on other systems and does not function. Because the VBIOS became corrupted again, I am investigating further and seeking guidance and advice. The GPU is using a GD25Q80CT VBIOS chip.
The repair shop is messing with you. The VBIOS firmware isn't just failing randomly—it could be something else on the card, or the module/chip itself is corrupted. Consider getting a cheaper second GPU or using the integrated graphics to check what appears in Device Manager, GPU-Z, and HWInfo.
It seems there might be confusion, but it looks like you're asking if the system can still function without the graphics card. Your 11500 should handle video output. This could change the behavior in another way.
