Help in figuring out why your RX 6800 XT is failing?
The iGPU doesn't respond when the card is connected (only when removed). Your concerns about the BIOS chip are valid—replacing it could cause issues. If the new chip becomes unstable, it might lead to further problems. In such cases, the GPU could malfunction.
Uncertain if I'd be willing to spend unless the shop provides written warranty and the price is reasonable. And although you might want to discard it, consider letting it be another person's item and list it on platforms like Facebook Market, eBay, or Craigslist.
Regarding the iGPU, technically what gives PCI-e its "express" feature is hot-swapping capability, though I wouldn't connect it directly to the system unless I'm using the BIOS to select a preferred video output device. If your motherboard doesn't have a dedicated slot, ensure you're using the correct PCIe cables and only the main connectors, avoiding any extensions.
I've already configured the preferred video output to the iGPU and attempted to run the card on another system. Neither of them posted on it. I appreciate your feedback, I'll consider my options regarding the card. Thanks for your assistance.
At least, not much comfort here—you seem to have a solid PSU and Mobo. Best of luck. I should have mentioned that clearly before selling; consider adding "Not Working/For Parts - No Returns" to safeguard yourself.
Update on the GPU:
I placed an order for a hot air station, updated and replaced the VBIOS chip. I checked the old chip and found the BIOS was 12 days outdated compared to the latest version. After three days of use, the card is functioning well and playing games without issues. I’m hoping for many more days left.
