Thanks everyone for your support. I understand Rufus is a great choice, but since neither of us has another PC and we're just in high school with limited funds, it's not possible. This advice was really useful.

Choose Linux for this setup. We stick to Linux for all tasks—it’s simpler and more dependable than Windows. The 40+ users we’ve configured love it too. It’s completely free, making it the clear best option.

He aims for PC gaming on Epic and similar platforms, but the Epic launcher via Wine can't reach the servers or install updates. Perhaps a different DNS solution would help, since Windows offers better support for games and apps.
