Have you purchased the incorrect power cable for your new GPU?
They remain based on the 30 series connector, meaning the size stays consistent. It seems they’re meant to work backward (if possible), allowing a newer standard on a 30 series setup, though they don’t work forward—so a 30 series cable won’t fit a 50 series card.
However, the cable lacking sense pins seems to work with other cards. According to ATX3.0 psus, they are compatible with additional cards (at least that's what I believed). Edited February 5 by leclod
Only 12-pin connectors (3090FE) work with current 12VHPWR cables. The orientation pins won't connect to anything.
I searched for “12 pin Corsair GPU cable” and found the top result, then placed an order at Best Buy. I’m hoping to get it back or replace it, but I messed up by discarding the packaging in the trash.
