This might be a misinterpretation on your end. Always make contact with the metal (the case) while handling the PC or its components. The reason is it provides grounding, and touching it before performing actions that significantly reduce its effectiveness can negate the benefit.
Also if there was any ESD we'd be aware of, and only you would know, because we can't determine what occurred... I think there was definitely something, which is why you're asking. But it's accurate—you'll only find out if the PC functions properly, as no one here can tell you what happened or what didn't.
