Hardware updates causing issues with keeping Windows 10 valid
I already use a Microsoft account and this platform is connected to it (it displays this when you sign in on the site and look under Account > devices). I’m not sure if the key is also linked. Also, when I want to set up a new one, I can’t do that. The ‘hyperlink’ in the settings area isn’t working properly. See the video: Similar issue when navigating to Settings > Activation > Add a Microsoft account
It seems the Microsoft account key binding isn't functioning properly. The system now indicates an invalid license. I plan to reinstall Windows 10 from a USB drive and use the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 key to obtain a valid Windows 10 Pro 64 license. Likely. Hardware installations proceeded smoothly, which is positive.
EDIT 24/02/18: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 upgrade key failed.
EDIT 24/04/18: Second attempt at reactivation from Microsoft Support succeeded. A representative was very helpful and didn't ask any questions. One issue arose requiring an alternative reactivation method, which took a little longer but resolved now.
