I will keep this brief. I’m considering swapping out the hardware and want to maintain the legitimacy of my Windows 10 Pro 64 key. However, I’m facing some issues. Past experience: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 was installed legally. I upgraded to free Windows 10 Pro 64 with a local account eight months ago. Recently, I had to replace the motherboard because the old one was faulty. I thought I could reactivate Windows via remote access from Microsoft support, but it didn’t work. After that, I tried manually activating it, but the help desk kept refusing me. The key in question says it’s valid, but the system still rejects it. They told me to use a Microsoft account instead of my local one, but the link doesn’t respond. When I tried to validate the key, it failed repeatedly. It seems the key isn’t recognized as active. I’ve been using a legal retail copy and now face pressure from the vendor to buy another key (about €125 extra). My main concern is preserving the current key without running into these obstacles. I’m also thinking about a clean Windows installation later. Please help me avoid these problems. Thanks, jb

Here are the 7 essential projects to enable Windows 10. I completed this using the key I bought at the store.

Are you connecting your product key to your Microsoft account? Since the Anniversary Update, users can link their key to a Microsoft account to simplify activation and remove obstacles. You might also opt for phone activation. For Twitter users, reach out to [at]MicrosoftSupport.

Yes, you can install the hardware, perform a fresh Windows 7 setup, and then upgrade to Windows 10. You can still get Windows 10 for free now. Checking your Microsoft account on the login page will confirm if your product key is associated with your account.

I set it up with 10 units and then turned it on using a 7 Ultimate key bought from retail.

You should have addressed the issue before the hardware update. I located a troubleshooting guide from Microsoft. I hope it assists you. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help...are-change Maybe @GoodBytes can assist with this as well.

I believe I completed it following the hardware adjustment... I'm planning to follow the method suggested by Legendarypoet and will post updates here. Thanks for your assistance! Nice to hear that. I'll use this since I still have the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 key. I'll share my results or any issues later.
