GTX 970 G1 overclocking issues
GTX 970 G1 overclocking issues
You haven't addressed anyone's question. I've seen people using that card with much higher overclocks (+160 core, +500 mhz ram) and stable performance. Should I consider another overclocking program? Also, what should the power limit setting be? This doesn't mean all cards will reach the same overclock; if a card has the same issue at standard clocks, it's just faulty. Well, at standard clocks I don't experience any problems or crashes.

You didn't answer anyone's question. I've seen people using that card with much better overclocks (+160 core, +500 mhz ram) and it works fine. Should I try another overclocking tool? And what should the power limit be set to? It doesn't mean every card gets the same overclock, just that if a card is having problems at standard speeds, it's probably defective!
At normal (stock) speeds, I don't see any issues or crashes.
Maybe you got lucky with the card (bad overclock) or you need to adjust things more.
Try 125 Core. I use 125 core plus 500 memory. Anything above 130 core makes it unstable for me.
I also have the G1. Keep in mind the card is factory overclocked, and except for the FTW edition, it has the highest factory overclock, so you'll get less of an additional boost since it's already quite high.
MrSoup shared his experience with 125 Core and 500 memory configurations. He notes that exceeding 130 cores causes instability. He also mentions having a G1 and points out the card is factory overclocked, suggesting less overclocking will be needed since it’s already close to its limit. He asks about stability in games like FC4, BF4, and AC4. He also requests the BIOS and driver versions, recommending the Gigabyte OC Guru II app for that information.

I'm still experiencing the same crashes as before.
I'll try with +125 Core clock and +100 memory clock...
@Dorin Filimon, I sent you a private message.
I keep experiencing the same crashes again

I'll test with +125 Core clock and +100 memory clock...
@Dorin Filimon, I messaged you privately.
That's strange! Have you increased the power limit and voltage? Is your fan running at full speed?
MrSoup is experiencing the same crashes again.
He plans to test with a +125 Core clock and +100 memory clock.

It seems unusual—have you increased the power limit and voltage? Is your fan running at full speed?
Yes, my power limit stays at 112%, I haven’t adjusted the voltage, but even at standard settings I’m not seeing stable overclocking. In MSI afterburner, the fan is set to auto, which hasn’t changed.
These crashes only appear during gameplay after about 10-15 minutes. During a stress test, performance remains stable and no crashes occur.
He uses Windows 8.1 Pro, has the latest Nvidia drivers, and the GPU works well overall, except for overclocking.
