It's been roughly two years since I reassembled it (swapped the motherboard, case, and cooler). I managed to resolve the problem by applying some optimized settings from a GTA V optimization video. I plan to replace the thermal paste later when I clean out the PC. Also, I'm unsure if adding 16GB of DDR3 would be worthwhile given the cost difference compared to DDR4, so I might upgrade the whole system instead.
I understand adding another 8GB would have been much better since my games didn’t run well on a single stick. It was more about upgrading the hardware—ram, CPU, and a new board. I didn’t test it with something like an Intel 1060 yet, but I might try someday.
