It occurred about 30 minutes into the game due to my overclocking. Even my stable GPU overclock worked in other games and benchmarks didn't function in GTA, and it kept generating this error. I've experienced crashes without any overclock or OS changes, possibly because of MSI Afterburner's display on the screen. I haven't run the OC/OS for a few days and haven't had any crashes yet.

It was just a bit too fast with my overclock, (1280mhz) versus 1254mhz and nothing happened.

Would be more than happy to get a good heist going yeah. At the moment though with this crash I've lost the motivation to play the game. Yesterday I was on the final story mission and with it being a very long mission I was shitting myself in case it crashed and I would have had to do it all again from the beginning, thankfully though yesterday was a good day and it only happened twice and not during the final mission. I just feel like I'm waiting for the inevitable crash too happen when playing. I opened a ticket with R* and gave them as much info as i could anyway. Other than this annoyance though the game is fucking amazing and glad I waited to build a pc before playing it.

The issue on Steam has attracted numerous discussions with hundreds of posts. It's difficult to pinpoint a specific problem or a universal fix. Many users experiment with fixes, only to encounter issues again after some time. The crashes seem unpredictable, often requiring a patch to resolve.

There isn't a perfect answer in that discussion, but someone reported an issue and R* confirmed they're aware and developing a solution.
