If my choices already feel tough, I'm facing another decision—Triple Monitor surround or Oculus Rift for Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. I expect many of you will react strongly, but I want to weigh all the pros and cons before investing this amount. Which setup works better with dual GTX 970s in SLI? What are the downsides of using the Oculus? I understand the decision might seem clear, but since the Oculus is purely visual, it could feel like a waste. To clarify: if playing Elite Dangerous with the Oculus Rift lets you move your hand to control the ship from the side, the choice becomes obvious. But honestly, I'm not sure—and this might make the whole discussion pointless. So... what would you recommend? (I really value @Slick and @Linus's thoughts if they want to join)

Wow, I assumed the biggest issues would come from EA, Ubisoft and Activision.

I’d like to use an Oculus myself... A friend owns one and really enjoys it! Not sure what it means for high-stakes situations.

In a perfect scenario with full backing, a 2160p 144hz superwide OLED would represent the ultimate goal.

I shouldn't have added the potato comment at all. Let's clarify why we chose a triple monitor setup instead of an Oculus.
