I consider an increase of 15-20%, matching the B650E cost range.

Keep the funds. Real practical gain won't materialize.

MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI is marginally pricier than GIGABYTE GA-B650M-DS3H and ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2. I tested both ASRock and GIGABYTE boards, but my experience with MSI BIOS was negative. How does this compare in terms of performance? Regarding the BIOS, what are your thoughts?

I believe AM5, Gigabyte, and ASRock have all improved their BIOS versions. I've tested all four major board manufacturers and would order them as Gigabyte, ASRock, ASUS, followed by MSI for the BIOS. ASRock seems to perform best, though some automation issues can be frustrating for advanced users. Gigabyte offers a solid overall experience, with menus that are reasonably easy to navigate (though I'm used to AM4 BIOS from AM5). ASUS has a few confusing menus and an overly animated interface, but it's not too bad. MSI lags behind in usability, with clunky menus, slow navigation, and odd automation behavior—especially with Nitro mode resetting unexpectedly. Their Intel BIOS is decent, though the AM5 version could use a fix. The rear IO is decent, featuring faster USB ports and built-in WiFi, but that's about it. I’d opt for the B650M-DS3H or B650M-HDV/M.2 models if budget allows; otherwise, they’re not worth the extra cost.

MSI B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI now matches the price of GIGABYTE’s model. It offers improved rear connectivity with faster USB ports and built-in WiFi, plus an extra PCIe 3.0 x1 slot and a dedicated 8-pin CPU power connector. Unless its BIOS is severely flawed, these added features seem quite valuable.
