Gigabyte DS3H B450 model not responding to BIOS updates
Hello everyone, I just received the Gigabyte DS3H B450 board and everything seems fine except for this unusual issue. I can update my Ryzen 7 to normal settings in Ryzen Master, but when I perform a 1MHz overclock in BIOS it doesn’t boot properly. (New motherboard, latest BIOS). Any suggestions on fixing this in BIOS? Thanks!
I successfully updated the chip on other cheaper boards too. My PSU is a 650-watt Corsair unit. This doesn’t seem to be the issue. The problem is that even after changing the chip to 1MHz, it still doesn’t boot. Using Ryzen Master fixes it for hours, but not permanently. I’m stuck.
You're adjusting components at a frequency of 1mhz, often using a multiplier for overclocking which typically doesn't handle such fine steps. You're also checking if voltage was applied and noting there are around seven Ryzen 7 CPUs across three architecture versions.
Hi, I didn't use 1MHz steps—it was just to highlight that the lowest voltage stops the PC from booting. I did apply some voltage. It's a Ryzen 7 1700 (Gen 1).
The voltage settings in Ryzen Master don't directly affect BIOS overclocking. Adjusting the base clock in Ryzen Master can cause issues, as noted with the 100MHz setting being problematic.
Add a fan to direct airflow over the VRM for cleaner operation.
