The second PCI-E port through the chipset functions properly. GPUs are confirmed working on a different system. The second system is relatively new—checking if the main PCI-E X16 slot or other components are the issue. The CPU supplies the 16 lanes needed for that slot.

The second setup is quite outdated—it uses an LGA1150 motherboard. It has two x16 ports, but only the second one has 8 lanes and it doesn’t function. The processor (3700x) runs fine on another AM4 board.

Try installing the Ryzen 3700X on an AM4 motherboard with the GTX 970. It might resolve the issue. The GTX 970 may have compatibility problems.

I believe there might be a small confusion about which GPUs are compatible. Both GPUs support the LGA 1150 board, while the 3700X also fits another AM4 board. The AM4 board I own doesn’t work with it. I’m planning to try the 2600X just in case and see if it functions properly.
