Hey there! It's totally normal to feel a bit confused at first with keyboard shortcuts. Some people stick to the standard keys, while others learn their own tricks. You're not alone in this—many new players experiment until they find what works best for them.

It turns into a smooth motion where your hands settle on the game controls (WASD, SHIFT, ALT, CTRL, SPACE).

It’s completely normal. You’ll need to adapt since most games follow a similar structure

You gradually get comfortable with it, though I still prefer not to use shift in games. My pinky isn’t strong enough Sad The keyboard’s control stick is too large, and I usually set the speed to Q.

I started as a basic Xbox 360 player, then upgraded to a full gaming setup. It wasn’t easy at first, but now using a controller in first-person shooters feels quite uncomfortable.

It’s a reasonable stance they adopt. Dodging and running are actions that happen during movement, like when using WASD, so there aren’t many other options. Yet, one of the benefits of PC gaming is that you can usually adjust the controls to fit your preferences. If it feels awkward, switch them out.

Adapt to the experience gradually; it usually doesn’t require more than a week or a couple of weeks of playing. Shift becomes simpler because it’s often the main command for starting or moving, especially if running is the default. Pressing Ctrl for crouching might feel a bit slower initially, as some games use "C" instead of the standard key.

I have a mouse with adjustable keys, so I added three buttons on my mouse and used the rest on the keyboard. It works well for me.
