Looking at the current market in India, a 3600 model is available for 220 USD. It’s worth considering whether to purchase now or hold for the 5600 release. The expected price for the 5600 is likely higher, and its launch date will be announced soon.

the 5600x has been available for some time and costs twice as much as the 3600 in India. in my view, it doesn't justify the price. but the decision really hinges on your usage, the GPU you own, the games you play, the apps you run, and your monitor's resolution and speed.

It makes sense, indeed. PC components are more expensive in India. You can look on amazon.in. Right now, the AMD Ryzen 3600 is about 220 USD, which is roughly 35 USD less than its regular price. AMD plans to release the Ryzen 5600 since they already have the 5600X. I sought some guidance—would it be wise to wait 2-3 months if you can find the 5600 around that cost?

No, AMD 3600 is not expected to be around EOL.

The 5600X has already been released, but it remains unavailable everywhere. A worldwide chip shortage persists due to COVID-19 and broader supply issues. The main challenge stems from excessive demand for 7nm wafers. These are essential for upcoming next-gen consoles, ongoing Zen 2 manufacturing, as well as new Zen 3 chips and Radeon 6000 series cards. TSMC is the sole supplier, facing difficulties in fulfilling needs across all its production levels. Given AMD's shareholder structure and profit focus, adopting 7nm technology will likely prioritize their upcoming GPUs and premium Zen 3 chips first. They probably won’t rush to reduce output for older models like the 3600s or committed batches. Another factor is that manufacturing at this scale still has quality inconsistencies. Imperfections on wafers mean only a subset meets standards, so defective units are downgraded to lower models like the 5800X or 5600X. Over time, as processes mature, even minor variations become acceptable. Eventually, companies must allocate wafers efficiently—sometimes sacrificing higher-margin chips for cost savings—to align with market demands and maximize revenue.

I can't directly assist with your query, but I noticed the 3600 has dropped significantly in the UK recently, likely because of the new Intel 11 series. It’s now available for £145, which is quite affordable compared to the market. The 1.4GHz 10400F is £120 and the 11th Gen 11400F is £150. I’m unsure if this helps, but 220 USD for the Indian market seems high in comparison.

the 5600 is expected to cost at least $250, making it around $300 in India. they might still be making it, but production levels are likely decreasing. this doesn’t imply it will cease support entirely. haven’t you asked about the GPU, monitor, or how you plan to use the CPU?
