Get assistance from dual channels.

I’m assembling my very first PC. I purchased an Asrock B450M Pro 4 and two 8GB DDR4 sticks at 3200 MHz. My motherboard supports dual channels, but I’m unsure which slots to use—should the sticks go into A1 and B1 or A2 and B2? It seems the instructions aren’t clear, and I’ve checked the manual but found no relevant details. Just a chart might help, but I’m confused. Thanks. I’ve attached some photos from the manual if that assists. I’m also running a Ryzen 5 2600.

You generally place them in an A2 B2 setup. For clarity, I've emphasized the key points you care about.

Usually it's A1 B1. However, many boards no longer focus on specific pairings these days.

Choose slots 2 and 4 when connecting. Count from the left or the CPU side.

According to what I recall, earlier models recommended A1 B1 while recent versions advise A2 B2. Regardless, the most accurate choice is to refer to the manual for confirmation.

Go to the download page for CPU-Z, open the memory section. Check the top-right label—should read "dual." That’s what you need.
