Yes, it is feasible to set up an admin account without a desktop in Windows 10 version 19042.746. You might need to explore alternative methods beyond control userpasswords2, such as using remote administration tools or adjusting your login configuration.

Mainly you need a regular user to act as admin, keeping the main account non-admin and without a password. Then add an additional admin user for extra security.

You can achieve this using a desktop and admin access. The way you’re accessing it via the command prompt raises some concerns, but it’s not a big deal since, according to what I know, you can’t form an admin account without already having admin privileges.

I'm not using the command prompt here. I'm now an admin, but I need a simple username and password so Windows can grant admin access when required. This second account should only have login details, no desktop setup.

The request refers to bypassing the desktop requirement. It means you want to proceed without using a desktop environment. I’ll take it from here.

You can still set up a regular user and log in to that account as your primary one.

My understanding of the title could be improved. What I meant by "without desktop" isn't someone logging into the computer and accessing the desktop, which is where files, shortcuts, and the Windows logo are stored.

I understand your concern. It seems like the feature you were looking for might no longer be available.
