Seeking suggestions for educational or fun games suitable for 5-6 year olds. Still figuring out where to start. I remember something similar to Turtle Academy from elementary school—big screen, colorful, and engaging. But I think it might be a bit too advanced for my niece right now; her brain is developing quickly. Also, I’m mainly looking for PC or tablet apps since I don’t want to share physical toys.
I used to play a game... it involved a dog and focused on various topics. I think it was called kickstart something.
She’s beginning to practice spelling, addition, and subtraction; so I thought there might be a way to get her to count cats on a screen instead of using her fingers. My main goal is helping her build an understanding of computers first, but I’d need something fun and suitable for her age that captures her attention without involving my games or my PC.
the reader rabbit series remains active. exploring games like kerbal space program plants vs zombies can aid in developing problem-solving abilities. lego games such as crazy machines are available on steam, and you might find portal useful for similar challenges. it’s great for thinking through situations, and i’ll add more ideas as they come to mind.
