I just got a new PC and I’m still figuring out which games it can handle. I tried checking websites, but they weren’t very helpful, so I asked for advice. I enjoy open-world titles like Mafia and the GTA series, but I’m open to any fun games. My specs are an Intel i7 860 with 2.8 GHz, overclocked to 2.9 GHz, Radeon HD 4600, and 8 GB RAM. I also want to know if GTA 5 would work on it without worrying about settings.

No way, those specs won’t cut it for GTA V. Excuse me, you’re better off with some indie titles...

You're asking about indie games and whether you can play Play Mafia 2 on them with impressive settings.

It's a huge gap—far beyond what you'd expect for a 4600. I wouldn't recommend running Mafia 2 or GTA V on it...

You're experiencing issues with a 4600 resolution when trying to play Mafia 2 at 1080p low quality.

Similar to a 1200x800 resolution, it appears great on my 4K screen.

A 10-year-old GPU with a 4K monitor at 1200x800 resolution looks quite odd. Your CPU is just meeting the basics, and both the system specs and the GPU’s needs are very similar—just 1 GB of VRAM. I’m not sure you’ll be able to run anything beyond simple games unless you adjust things a lot.

Current gaming scene: mostly no mainstream titles, just a few indie options. Verify the system specs. Try games from around the time your graphics card was released—those should work. The Half-Life lineup, Far Cry, and Crysis could be fun if you enjoy first-person shooters. For something more RPG-focused, consider The Elder Scrolls Oblivions.
