Hi,
I've noticed several performance problems while gaming on my PC, which seem to fit within reasonable specifications for 1080p playback. My system includes a GTX 1650 OC GPU, an i3-10105f CPU, 32GB of RAM, a 500GB Samsung EVO SSD, and a 2TB HDD.

For instance, when playing 'Crab Game', I experience lag despite the in-game FPS counter displaying 500 FPS. I've adjusted all settings to their minimums for smoother performance, but it still stutters unless I switch to 720p. Increasing all settings to maximum makes the game run very slowly and shows low FPS even when the counter claims otherwise (300+ fps). I've also tried disabling all settings in NVIDIA Control Panel and changing the Physx to use my graphics card, but the issue persists.

I'm using a 75 Hz monitor. Could this be contributing to the problem? It seems it might be restricting my in-game FPS even though the counter suggests otherwise.

Thank you.

Is 'Crab Game' the ONLY PC title getting a laggy performance on your system, or even other PC games ? If other PC games also exhibit this behavior, then most likely it's an issue with your system.
'Crab Game' is not at all demanding on the hardware, so your PC is more than capable of running this MP game even on 1080p. You mean to say the game shows 500 FPS, but it does not actually feel like it's delivering that much frame rate, and you
feel
the game is still lagging, and having poor and sluggish performance ?
Which tool are you using to monitor the FPS counter ? MSI Afterburner, Fraps or some other app (or the game's in-built counter)? Have you tried re-installing this game on your system ? Are you running Windows 10 or 11 OS ?
Try reinstalling the game if possible. Also, on a side note, try doing a CLEAN re-install/update of the Nvidia GPU drivers. You can use this
DDU tool
if you wish, using the Window's
safe mode option
but this is not a compulsion, just a recommendation for a clean re-install and reset of factory settings.
What other PC games lag after few minutes of gameplay ? List the exact brand and model number of your current power supply unit/PSU as well.

Thank you for your response. I have attempted to reinstall the game several times and also performed a clean reinstall of NVidia drivers. I've tested with various graphics cards, which maintained similar performance in Crab Game and other titles like Dying Light 1. The FPS counter used by Steam and Fraps shows high FPS but feels sluggish compared to actual performance. I have tried both Windows 10 and Windows 11, currently using Windows 11.

Additionally, when recording screens in games, the output video remains very laggy. Despite changing components such as graphics cards (GTX 960, 760), dual-channel RAM, and switching from HDD to SSD, there has been no noticeable improvement. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the precise brand and model of your present power supply unit? What are the CPU and GPU temperature readings during gaming? Are there any indications of overheating? Only these two games are experiencing lag, or does the entire game collection, including highly graphical titles, show issues?

My PSU is the S12G 550W Seasonic. It seems my whole game collection is affected, not just a couple of titles. Might my 75Hz monitor be restricting the frame rate in the games?

You might be experiencing frequent screen tearing because of the limited refresh rate on your monitor. Check your PC's performance by visiting userbenchmark.com and running the test. Share the results from UB once you're done.
