Hey. My GPU is RX7800XT and CPU is 12600kf. Recently I’ve been having issues with Fortnite. It only runs Fortnite smoothly, unlike other games in my Steam library such as Overwatch, CS:GO, Doom, etc. It’s just not performing well. I get around 50 frames in the lobby with terrible frame rates and about 10 in-game. I’ve tried updating drivers, using recommended ones for Fortnite, updating BIOS, reinstalling the game—still nothing works. In Task Manager, the GPU reports it’s barely using any power, maxing out at 20% and only reaching 50 degrees. I’m really frustrated and just want to play with friends during school holidays. Any suggestions or solutions?

Set the frequency to 60hz assuming a current setting of 144hz or above.

To confirm, are you connecting your monitor to the 7800XT unit or directly to the motherboard?

your 165 hz monitor was originally set to that frequency. you adjusted it to 60, but it didn't respond.

It definitely wouldn't work that way. If it did, it would be hilarious, but since it wouldn't, my CPU lacks built-in graphics, so other games would run poorly even with two monitors.

Sure, I understand. Are you looking for another high-performance machine to try your card on?

Yes, I'm doing this for my brothers, but I think it was too much for him. Just use DDU and adrenaline for this. Side note: before I proceed, I'm trying to reinstall my graphics drivers using DDU on my main rig first, before attempting the swap. Also, I'm planning a BIOS update—this only happened after I updated it.
