Gameplay challenge in Watch Dogs
Gameplay challenge in Watch Dogs
Hey there, it seems there was an issue with my driver after installing the new beta version 337.88. It worked fine before, just like it used to. You mentioned having a 740m and a 760m GPU—definitely more powerful. I also installed the latest mods, just in case that helps. I was a bit concerned about a major software problem affecting the graphics, but it turned out stable at around 44fps in Cinebench. Now I’m getting 80fps with the updated driver. I’m sorry for any confusion, and thank you for your patience. Your Slovak is understandable, but I’ll try to be clearer next time. Appreciate your help!
I rely on my laptop as a desktop alternative, placed on a cooler master U3 all the time. Previously, it sat on my table, but after cleaning regularly every 2-3 weeks with a compressor, dust accumulation is much reduced. Last week, I cleaned three laptops from my family; all had a dry layer of dust on the heatsinks and thermal pastes, leading some to believe they needed replacement because they ran so smoothly.
It’s likely a CPU limitation, so keep your GPU at 99-100% during intense games like Doom. The only times your GPU drops below that is when another component is causing the bottleneck, which usually happens from my experience. Let me know if you're mistaken.
I'll give it a shot with some of those settings. It seems 3GB isn't quite enough, even with low detail AA filters and AO. I'm expecting to be busy with Strife beta soon, so this might take a few days to finish.
You're right, it should stay at 100% as long as V sync is disabled. However, with your I5-3570K running near 40% usage during gameplay, the performance drops significantly—especially when driving fast in the city, where it falls to about 20 FPS.
I believe you overlooked my argument. Even someone with a desktop GTX 780ti is experiencing problems playing Watch Dogs.
I got your message, I see the issue. Watch dogs has been updated and the frame rate is now where it should be... I was just trying to explain that my average FPS used to be about 30, then it gradually fell to 15-19 and stayed steady. I was surprised by the changes. I’m in agreement with sqwidee—just like UBI, my gameplay felt off around 50% when it decided to save and it got corrupted.
That's unusual I noticed... at least the temperatures look normal. Have you experimented with different drivers for your GPU and CPU? Maybe a full system scan could uncover something in the folder you haven't mentioned.
